Stacey acquired her experience and insights in effective māori child pedagogy approaches through a decade of youth work in the far north, extensive involvement in Kura Kaupapa Māori Te Aho Matua, Te Kōhanga Reo, and a lifetime of exposure to traditional wānanga concepts.  Stacey has provided cultural support and supervision to multidisciplinary and clinical settings including youth justice, alternative education, care and protection facilities, and with family violence and school counsellors. 

Stacey recently led the Māori development strategy for Youthline, an organisation with decades of experience helping taiohi with developmental issues, mental health and addictions challenges, informed by a diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychology.  Stacey currently leads the cultural advisory team for Whāraurau, applying equity and te Tiriti o Waitangi across the mokopuna mental health serving workforce.  Stacey also volunteers her time as an accredited email, text and phone counsellor at Youthline.
