Clinical Psychologist - Enhanced School Based Health Services (ADHB)
- Youth therapeutic interventions in schools
- School-based health service (ADHB)
- Part-time permanent position, 0.6FTE, 24 hours a week.
- Full time position available for someone who is also open to additional days to work at our Fresh Minds Ellerslie Centre.
The opportunity:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people?
ProCare Fresh Minds provides Psychologists to a small number of schools in the ADHB region as part of a programme aiming to change the trajectory of young people who are often experiencing disparities in health and mental health outcomes. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced, registered clinical psychologist to join our dynamic team. Our school-based psychologists are part of the Fresh Minds wider team, with an Ellerslie base. During the school term, they operate out of School Health Centres alongside other health professionals including registered nurses and GP's. This role will be working across a number of schools in ADHB (one per day). Ideally based at schools in Central-South area. There are opportunities to work solely in schools, or to work across schools and Fresh Minds Centres.
This role will be joining a vibrant group of ProCare Fresh Minds psychologists. As well as delivering interventions to young people, the position will involve working collaboratively alongside the school based health team, and the provision of case consultation with school and health centre staff. There are also significant opportunities for innovation, including the development of and facilitation of youth-appropriate group and webinar programmes within a school setting.
As a registered health professional with a current practicing certificate, you will also have comprehensive clinical experience in modalities such as ACT, CBT and FACT, and a passion for working with people from all walks of life in a brief intervention primary mental health context. You will also ideally have experience working in a mental health setting (primary or secondary) undertaking contextual assessments, child, youth and family focused interventions, and providing talking therapies. You will be flexible, a self-starter and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
The Fresh Minds Centres see individuals and families across the age range and offers a range of interventions, including brief interventions, intensive therapy under ACC contracts, tele-therapy, 'live' interactive webinars, parenting programmes, Mindfulness and other groups.
