Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

iCAMHS is a regional service for children and youth with serious mental health disorders up to aged 18 years. Our multi-disciplinary teams are made up of Psychiatrists, Mental Health Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities.

We are looking for a fixed-term, part-time (0.8 FTE) Clinical Psychologist or Registered Psychologist with at least two years post-registration experience within an iCAMHS, or acute mental health setting. You will bring experience in working with children and adolescents presenting with a range of mental health issues. Some liaison / consultation with other areas and agencies will be required including working with community services such as Oranga Tamariki, schools, GPs and local Maori networks.

The role will be fixed-term for 12 months covering parental leave.

Suitable applicants will be passionate about providing evidence-based psychological interventions for children and young people.

You will have current registration with the NZ Psychologists Board under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act (2003), hold a current Annual Practising Certificate and have appropriate experience and competency.

You will have up-to-date knowledge of current research findings relating to major mental health issues and trends, and psychological interventions for children, adolescents and families. You will be an active participant in our multidisciplinary team and will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines. You will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
