Job Description
Calling all Registered Counsellors, Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses and other mental health professionals…

Do you love working with rangatahi? Is primary care your jam? Looking for a more supportive workplace?

Come and join our skilled, passionate team at The 502 Rangatahi Ora, Porirua’s new Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS). We’re looking for two people to work within their scope of practice to provide primary mental health support to rangatahi aged 10-24.

The 502 aims to ensure all young people in Porirua have access to free, high quality, primary health care and social support. Established at the end of 2021, and co-designed by rangatahi, we are already seeing hundreds of Porirua’s rangatahi, many of whom would not be accessing healthcare without The 502. Young people are coming in the doors, telling us how comfortable they feel, then they’re coming back and bringing their friends. What we are doing is working.

We have vacancies for two mental health professionals to work together with our doctors, nurses, counsellors and youth workers to help provide wraparound support. The focus of these roles is delivering brief(ish) interventions, using evidence-based talking therapies. There is plenty of opportunity and support to think outside the box too!

In addition to incredibly rewarding mahi, we offer:
• Competitive salary ranges
• A well-resourced community organisation
• Lovely new premises in central Porirua
• Experienced and awesome team to draw upon, plenty of opportunities for learning and development
• Full-time, permanent but part-time enquiries welcome, we’re flexible and whānau-friendly, we’ve got your back

Who we’re looking for:
• A registered Counsellor, Psychologist, Social Worker, Nurse or other health professional with current practicing certificate
• Experience working with rangatahi in a primary or secondary mental health setting, providing mental health and wellbeing supports
• Experience working with rangatahi Māori and tangata moana/Pasifika communities, and ideally knowledge and experience working in Porirua
