Te Whatu Ora - Heath New Zealand Southern exists to support everyone across our district to live well, and access the right care when they need it, by delivering high quality, patient-centred and equitable health services to our diverse communities.

Our Youth Specialty Service's (YSS) is a specialised out-patient service providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for young persons in the Otago area. Attached is a service called Rapoi which is a day programme providing assessment and treatment for youth requiring support to return to main stream schooling.

Mōu ake - About you

In managing your own case-load you will have a sound knowledge of appropriate youth focused mental health interventions and provide specialised assessment and treatment, with a strong emphasis on family inclusion and family therapy for youth (14-19 years), experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

You bring to this role flexibility and commitment to delivering excellence to youth and their family in an age appropriate and culturally appropriate manner, liaise effectively in partnership with community agencies to support the youth's health and well-being. We provide good orientation to the position and will support your ongoing professional development needs.

If you enjoy working as an integral member of a youth focused multidisciplinary team and have experience working with youth and their family, you shouldn't let this opportunity pass you by.

Essential criteria:

- Registered Mental Health Professional with current APC (New Zealand Nursing Council, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist)
- Experience in working with adolescent with moderate to severe mental illness (and their families)
- Current New Zealand driver's licence
