Kaitohutohu Whaiora Taiohi/Tautoko ā-arop | Youth Advisor/Peer Support

My passion for mental health work started whilst I was a client at Mirror HQ. From 13 to 18 years of age I was regularly engaging with clinicians at Mirror HQ, and it was during this time I decided I wanted to pursue this line of work.

At 18 I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend a motivational interviewing training with one of the Mirror HQ staff. Five years later, after finishing my bachelor’s in social services, I am now fortunate to be working alongside the people who helped me growing up.

I currently work at Mirror Services in Ōtepoti Dunedin as a peer support worker and youth consumer advisor, and I love every second of it.
