Biography

Location: Ōtautahi – Christchurch 

Jane is responsible for providing stewardship of the Supporting Parents Healthy Children Initiative, with a specific focus on the Supporting Parents Healhy Children Guideline review. 

She has worked in physical, mental and rehabilitative health settings in Aotearoa and the UK, and is a registered social worker, clinical supervisor and lecturer with extensive health leadership experience. 

Jane completed her Doctorate in Health Science, researching the complexities of recruitment and retention of allied health workforces in rural and remote health settings.   

Her recent Health Research Council funded research looked at what ‘Growing Up Well on the West Coast’ could look like, a co-designed community engagement action research study. 

As well as her DHSc, Jane has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Social Welfare and a Post-graduate Diploma in Health Management. 

Jane is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management, and a Certified Health Executive.“Whāraurau’s workforce development has underpinned my clinical practice in a number of settings over the years, and I have always held them in high regard.  Being able to contribute to their mahi in this way feels very rewarding.”
