As Child Protection Coordinator you will provide leadership in child protection for Te Whatu Ora Waitemata staff. Working as part of the National Violence Intervention Programme, and working in partnership with the Family Violence Intervention Coordinator – you will provide staff training to enable WDHB staff to identify and respond to child protection concerns confidently. You will be working to support clinicians in a number of services across Te Whatu Ora Waitemata.

Your key responsibilities include:

Being the leader for child protection to Te Whatu Ora Waitematā
Facilitating training sessions for clinicians within WDHB
Developing and maintaining effective key relationships with relevant stakeholders
Continued quality improvement

You will need to be culturally sensitive and have a sound understanding of the dynamics of child and intimate partner abuse. You will have participated in a family violence intervention programme and have experience with providing training.

Well-developed negotiation skills are essential as is the ability to develop and sustain good working relationships with a range of professionals. Previous experience working with whanau and dealing with child protection issues is desirable.
