Education professionals play a crucial role in recognising, responding and supporting Tamariki and Rangatahi with disordered eating/eating disorders.  Given the important role they play in the lives of young people educational professionals can be instrumental in delivering positive message about body image, normal eating and exercise behaviours.  We recommend you watch the videos available in the workforce development section of this website specifically designed, in consultation with the sector, for those working in schools.

Phone advice for education professionals is available by contacting the Specialist Eating Disorders Services in:

Auckland (TuPu Ora) - 09 623 4650

or ICAMHS services in other localities.

Additional resources about eating disorders can found on the Leading Lights and Rangatahi Well websites and Bodywhys (Ireland) has developed these teaching resources for improving body image.
