PARENT & TEACHER PROGRAMMES

Whāraurau provides training and ongoing professional development opportunities for those delivering The Incredible Years® parent and teacher programmes, including support to maintain programme fidelity, to become an accredited group leader and to deliver with cultural fidelity.

We currently offer workforce support and training for the following Incredible Years programmes:

Triple P Program

PRIMARY CARE, DISCUSSION GROUP, ONLINE

Whāraurau provides the coordination of a Ministry of Health funded roll out of three levels of the Triple P system, in four District Health Board regions: Counties Manukau; Waitemata; Mid-Central; and Bay of Plenty. Also, as part of the Ministry of Health's psychosocial response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Whāraurau is coordinating the workforce access to Triple P Online Positive Parenting Programme TPOL.

Primary care / community providers are trained and supported to deliver:

Level 1: Universal Triple P/Stay Positive
Level 3: Primary Care Triple P (0-12)
Level 3: Triple P Discussion Groups (0-12)

Covid-19 pandemic psychosocial response:

Level 4: Triple P Online (0-12, 10-16, and Fear-Less)

PCIT

PARENT CHILD INTERACTION THERAPY

Whāraurau receives funding to offer Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) training for mental health professionals in agencies that are already supporting PCIT with other staff.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based, short-term, family-behavioural therapy designed to support parents and their young children (2-7yrs) who have severe behavioural difficulties, or where there are extreme difficulties with parenting e.g. history of physical abuse, neglect etc.
