Whāraurau invites you to attend our online Lunchtime Learning event:

Telehealth - Digital Mental Health Support via Text Messaging

with Fiona Pienaar

The need for additional mental health services and support has grown steadily over the years, but since the pandemic, demand has escalated rapidly. In response, Telehealth has become increasingly vital as people seek to find support when they need it, using their preferred method of communication. This is particularly true for young people who often feel most comfortable communicating via text, email, webchat, zoom, phone, or messaging from one of the social media platforms - rather than speaking to someone face-to-face. This lunchtime presentation discusses the various aspects of Telehealth, the vital services in New Zealand that support people in crisis, and how practitioners and volunteers work with young people in these services, including those self-harming and those experiencing suicide ideation.
