  • Are you interested in learning how to facilitate groups using a motivational interviewing approach?

 

This two-day face to face on Monday 3 July and Tuesday 4 July in Auckland will be led by Tipene Pickett, who is a Motivational Interviewing (MI) practitioner.  

Tipene has a special interest in the relationship between Tikanga Māori and MI. He utilises the Pātūwatawata perspective of the pōwhiri process and use of pūrākau alongside the western approach of MI acknowledging each have their own inherent influence in a conversation for change.  

 

The course will cover:  

  • Group engagement  
  • Stages of group formation and cohesion  
  • Group exercise that can be used in support, therapeutic and educational groups  
     

Venue: This is an in-person event in Auckland. If your availability changes, let us know so we can offer your place to another delegate and also cater correctly.
