It’s time to register for the mid-year Sector Leaders’ Day on Friday 28 July in Wellington.  

Sector Leaders’ Days are funded through government contracts and provide an opportunity to:   

 

  • Get up-to date information from Manatū Hauora | The Ministry of Health, Te Whatu Ora | Health New Zealand, Te Aka Whai Ora | Māori Health Authority, and other national agencies 
  • Share innovative practice and service development ideas  
  • Foster nationwide networking and leadership support  
  • Address challenges faced within and across various sectors, including mental health and addiction  

 

The agenda includes:  

 

Government updates:  Te Whatu Ora, Te Manatū Hauora & Te Aka Whai Ora

Current research: Revisiting Te Rau Hinengaro—including our pēpe and tamariki | Growing up in New Zealand – Now We Are Twelve 

Leadership insights: Sharon Shea, MNZM, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Hako, Ngāti Haua 

Service innovation: Real – the youth brand of Pathways – on striving every day to be an exemplary Tangata Tiriti partner  

Youth: Rika Rosli –using her lived experience to evaluate the limitations of conventional methods and highlighting the need for a mindset shift into creative ways of tackling issues affecting rangatahi. 

Sector partnership: Te Hiringa Mahara (The Health and Wellbeing Commission) – reporting on young people admitted to adult inpatient units, compulsory treatments orders and the lived experience workforce. 

 

We encourage people to attend in person, however if that is not possible, there is an online option. A full agenda will be released closer to the day.
