Youth Forensic Psychiatry - University of Auckland

Does your job include addressing mental health needs of adolescents / young adults involved with the law?

The Department of Psychological Medicine of the University of Auckland offers a full year (double semester) part-time postgraduate course in Youth Forensic Psychiatry which is fully funded and is for all of New Zealand.
 
Over the year, there are four 2-day teaching blocks on campus in Auckland with the rest of the course online.
 
The Youth Forensics course is for nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, counsellors, psychologists, psychiatrists and others with a degree and working with adolescents with mental health difficulties who are (or are likely to be) involved in legal issues. The course is for those working in services funded by the Ministry of Health or working in other services.

Funding includes fees, travel and accommodation and any associated expenses.
 
The Youth Forensics course can be completed as a stand-alone course (Certificate of Proficiency). There is also the opportunity to do other courses and programmes in Infant, Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
